What the record says about shocks
The 2021 to 2022 season averaged $3.74 but peaked at $5.13. The following season averaged $4.82 with a peak of $5.90. The unwind then took two full seasons, through $4.11 and $3.66.
The 2025 to 2026 season averaged $4.01 with a low of $3.53 and a peak of $5.57. That is a wider band inside one season than the two seasons before it managed between them, and the peak arrived in March rather than January.
