The most useful thing you can know about a heating oil company before you ring it is whether it will tell you a price without taking your details first. That is the first column below, and on this evidence it separates almost nobody, because almost nobody publishes.

Not one of the eleven publishes a rate card. That is the finding.
Which ones file publicly
Two of the American companies are publicly reporting and therefore disclose volumes, margins and customer attrition in filings you can read. Those figures are on their pages, taken from the filed reports rather than from press releases, and they are the only hard numbers in this whole section.
What this list is not
- It is not a ranking. There is no scoring, no stars and no best buy, because no comparable price data exists to rank on.
- It is not exhaustive. There are hundreds of independent dealers and most of them are excellent. These eight are the ones with enough public material to write an honest page about.
- It is not a lead form. No company on this list has paid for placement, and there is nothing on this site that passes your details anywhere.
- It is not a licence check. Use the state registers for that, and read what those credentials actually certify first.
